City offers data session for arts planning

Barrie’s department of culture is reaching out to local arts/culture groups and artists to help them collect and manage information.
The department is offering a free workshop this Wednesday geared towards strategies on collecting and managing information, focusing on what information should be collected, why it should be gathered, how to do that without spending a lot of money, and how that information might connect with arts initiatives.
Information on using registration and sales data to retain and build memberships will be provided, as will tips on building the business and measuring success.
The session is planned for Wednesday, 5-8 p.m. in the Sir Robert Barrie Room on the second floor of City Hall at 70 Collier Street. For more information or to register, email The Department of Culture at or call (705) 739-4299.
