Barrie’s TIFT offers summer camps

Talk is Free Theatre (TIFT) is offering a round of summer camps for aspiring actors, to be taught by one of the troupe’s professional thespians.
Following up on the success of its March-break camp and Improv Olympics, TIFT’s summer camp is designed to build confidence and creativity in its participants, as well as improving socialization skills. Campers will also get practical experience in areas such as set and costume design.
Open to children aged 10-14 and 6-9, the sessions are a week in duration, and are scheduled for Aug. 8-22, running parallel to each other. Campers will produce a play for friends and family at the end of each session.
Cost is $190 per child per week, plus a nominal fee for before and after day care. According to the new Ontario Children’s Activity Tax Credit, parents and guardians are able to claim up to $500 of eligible expenses per child.
For more information or to register call 705-792-1949, or drop by suite 20, 230 Bayview Drive, Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
