Robbery not a random act: police

Barrie Police Services continue to investigate a robbery that occurred Monday afternoon in the area of Ardagh Drive and Pass Court.
It is believed that three males disguised with masks and reportedly armed with hand guns approached a U-Haul van parked with three occupants. Two occupants from within the van fled on foot and the third male was forced from the driver’s seat and assaulted, police report.
The three suspects fled the area on foot and are described as:
Suspect 1: male, white, tall, thin build, armed with a hand gun, wearing a red bandanna covering his face, and black gloves; suspect 2: male, brown, thin build, armed with a hand gun, wearing dark clothing, black bandanna covering his face, and black gloves; suspect 3: male, brown, heavy build, armed with a hand gun, wearing dark clothing, black bandanna covering his face, and black gloves.
Police are reassuring the residents of Barrie and within the area there is no threat to public safety. It is believed this was not a random attack.
