Celebrate Barrie’s Battle of the Bands

Barrie’s annual Battle of the Bands will be kicking off Celebrate Barrie on Friday, June 3, and applications are now being accepted from local bands with members aged 21 and under.
Selected bands will take the stage and be judged by a panel of local musicians, promoters and music industry insiders for the chance to win prizes which include general admission wristbands to WAYHOME, a gift certificate for Music Pro, recording time with One Star Studio, tickets to the Songwriters Series and stage time at the Foxx Lounge Rock Bar & Hotdoggery and major Barrie festivals.
The event will feature up to six musical performances at Centennial Park from 7 to 10 p.m. on June 3. Anyone interested in performing at Barrie’s Battle of the Bands for Celebrate Barrie must submit contact information and a video or audio recording before May 2 to the City of Barrie’s Department of Culture, located at 56 Mulcaster Street or to events@barrie.ca. To qualify, you must be a resident of Barrie or surrounding area, provide your own instruments, and refrain from using offensive language during your performance.
This free musical showcase promotes Barrie’s up-and-coming young bands while providing a fun and entertaining show. The Battle of the Bands is supported by the Foxx Lounge Rock Bar & Hotdoggery, the Central Ontario Music Council, One Star Studio, Music Pro, Rock 95 and 107.5 Kool FM.
